New Discoveries Of The Week: Cool New Things I’m Trying, Books I’m Reading, And More!
Correct Your Posture (And Sore, Tired Muscles) For Good
If you don’t mind me asking, what position are you sitting in, standing in, or laying down in right now?
And…how long have you been in that position, and how many times have you fidgeted in said position? Too many times to count? I figured. 😉
You may not know it, but you have things in your back that are called “posture springs,” that act as elastic structures, allowing you more flexibility and a healthier back. But the way you move and sit often prevents them from working at full capacity.
The good news is that once you get into the proper posture for sitting, standing, and moving in general, you’ll be able to activate these “springs” and suddenly—no more sore back and no more tired muscles.
Too good to be true? Stay with me.
You’ve likely been ranted at about posture your whole life, whether it be from a parent or teacher, and it’s been ingrained in your mind to move and sit a certain way (i.e. to not “slouch,” etc.) but what if I told you you’ve been doing it all wrong?
Yes, you’ve been taught the wrong “shape” of posture.
And the reason behind this? You’ve been taught posture for specific parts, not the whole. A specialist will patch up the part, rather than get to the root of the problem, which in this case, is your posture.
Here’s a secret: lifting weights, alternative therapies, and expensive chairs aren’t going to resolve your aching muscle issue. It’s all patchwork.
So, because I’m also not a perfect human and struggle with my own posture, I’ve teamed up with Principles of Posture to partake in their Practical Guide For Self-Experimenters program. It’s full of video lessons, self-experiments, diagrams, and photos on how to get your posture springs back up and running for good, so you don’t have to worry about tired and sore muscles ever again.
I seriously cannot recommend this course enough, as it will teach you all about how you can use your own body to regain its strength and power, and ultimately make a life-changing transformation. Check it out by clicking here.
My Go-To Skincare Products From Greenfield Botanics (Designed By My Aunt!)
A post shared by Ben Greenfield Life (@bengreenfieldfitness)
If you’re fanatical about only using the cleanest ingredients on your precious skin microbiome, you’ll want to make Greenfield Botanics part of your daily routine. I’ve been using their products for years, and I’ve seen a remarkable improvement in my skin’s texture, radiance, and firmness as a result.
Two of my favorites are the Pure Radiance Peppermint Toner, which includes organic ingredients designed to balance the skin’s Ph and minimize the appearance of pores, and the Every Day Face and Body Oil, ideal for moisturizing skin of all types with antioxidants and nourishing plant oils.
As you can see in this video, I take the Toner first and spray it all over my face (even in my mouth, too, because all-natural products should be able to be consumed, in my opinion), and then follow up with the Oil, rub it all over my face and even run it through my hair. I love to use this exact one-two combo especially right after the hot tub or a sauna session.
Anyways, if you’re looking to give your skin a little more tender lovin’ care with the help of organic herbs and botanicals, I highly encourage you to try these simple products that I’ve been using for years.
Click here to purchase from Greenfield Botanics (which is actually my dear Aunt Cynthia’s company!) and use code BENG10 for 10% off.
